WINNERS: LIPSCOMB UNIVERSITY Senior Jordan Burgason recently signed a National Letter of Intent to play with for the Bison basketball team next season. Burgason was a first team all-conference performer, leading the Cyclones to a conference title. Lipscomb finished third in the Atlantic Sun Conference last season, finishing with a record of 18-13. Props to the Bison for recruiting Burgason, and look for the team to make some noise in Nashville next year. LOSERS: THE NEW YORK YANKEES For the second consecutive issue, the Bronx Bombers are the biggest losers in the sports world. The club said they would not negotiate with superstar third basemen Alex Rodriguez if he opted out of the final three years of his contract. Unfazed, Rodriguez opted out, only to be offered a 10-year contract worth over $300 million by the Yankees. This turn of events shows just how gutless the once all-powerful Yankees are.
