Fall Ball: the newest dance party

Ames High needs more dance parties. It’€™s that simple. Drugs and alcohol are huge problems in our school. Our city is better for college students, and we get sucked in to that older and more illegal culture because we’€™re bored. Ames doesn’€™t have enough for high school students to do! We try to spruce it up during the year with our ‘classy’€ dances, but they only account for 3 fun nights, and only 2 for underclassmen. It’€™s one thing to have our typical, traditional, dressy, expensive, primpy dances like Homecoming, Winter Formal and Prom, but we need exciting and casual dance parties throughout the year. Since Tucheze isn’€™t for a few months, Principal Evans has teamed up with members of dance committees and parents to organize the Fall Ball.

The dance will be Saturday, October 29th from 8pm-midnight, and once you leave you can’€™t come back in, just like all the other dances. It will be in the cafeteria, like Winter Formal. It will be a party. The thing that sets the Fall Ball apart from the other dances is the overall vibe. It’€™s a low $5 to get in, only Ames students will attend, and you don’€™t have to worry about asking a date to go. You might want to rent a tux, though, depending on what you DRESS UP as!

That’€™s right, it’€™s a costume party, and there will be prizes galore! Fun things happening: Prizes given for best costumes Door prize drawings throughout the night Bring a canned food item for the food pantry and get an extra door prize ticket Photo-shoot stations will be available for pictures (bring your own camera) Poppin’€™ music So buy your tickets the week before and get all your friends to come dress up in their craziest costumes for this year’€™s Fall Ball. It is sure to be a good time!
