God of War Ascension Preview

With the release of Grand Theft Auto 5 around the corner parents, politicians, and other people with no lives are once again worried about the minds of children and teens being brainwashed by hardcore gain violence and gore. However the game that these people should probably be more worried about is the fourth ps3 installment of the God of War Franchise, God of War Ascension. This series is known for hours of wholesome fun family entertainment involving using the bodies of fallen soldiers to activate levers, using a severed head of medusa to turn your enemies into stone, and slicing and dicing anything that stands in your way with your blades of Olympus to obtain those sweet, sweet red orbs. The God of War series centers around the greek god Kratos who has some serious daddy issues and an intense attitude problem. Kratos enjoys reading a nice romance novel, long walks on the beach, and maiming and killing anything that he encounters. The gist of the series is that Kratos, who becomes the god of war after killing his previous master Ares, finds out that he is the illegitimate son of Zeus. After being betrayed by his father he exacts revenge on all of the greek gods and titans in the most violent and horrible ways imaginable. The series is well known for its very fun and intuitive top down fighting, amazing graphics with many breathtaking scenes throughout, some of the most epic boss fights in any video game series ever, and lots of clever puzzle that really immerse you into your surroundings and entertain you for hours. By far the best part of the series though is Kratos’s arrogant and commanding attitude. God of War Ascension is scheduled to be released on March 12, 2013. Ascension is reportedly going to take place ten years prior to the first God of War game and tells the story of how Kratos frees himself from the god of war Ares after he murders Kratos’s wife and family. Director Todd Papy says, “Players will be introduced to a more human Kratos than ever before, giving people a look at Kratos’ human side so fan fans can relate to him better and understand some of the stuff he went through when he was younger.” With every God of War game being a little bit darker than the previous title it will be interesting to see how far the developers will go with God of War Ascension. Needless to say fans of the franchise from around the globe are ready to slice and dice Kratos’s puny enemy’s and continue their adventure into this epic series.
