Girls Golf

The Ames High Girls Golf team is about to hit its stride going into the last several meets of the year. With just 2 weeks left in the season these girls are ready to finish off the year on a high note by taking first in the 18 hole meet on April 27th in marshalltown. This season has been a tough one for the varsity girls team but they are ready to get it back on track. The varsity team is also looking forward to  years to come, considering all of the varsity line-up consists of all underclass(wo)men. For most of these girls, this is only their second year of golf . This spring for the seniors it is most likely going to be the last Ames High sport they will ever play. Madisen Swagkert said, “my friends and I are really bad at golf but we enjoy going to the course after school hanging with the awesome coaches, getting buckets.” The Girls Golf season  is almost over, but the future holds big hopes for the Ames High Girls Ames Golf program. Next year they expect to tear it up on the greens, also on the tee box and fairway.
